How to set up Elementor Forms to Google Sheets

Here is the whole setup for connecting Elementor Forms to Google Sheets, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Google Sheets and in Elementor Forms.

1. Create a service account and share the sheet

In Google Cloud turn on the Google Sheets API, create a service account and download its JSON key. Then open your sheet, click Share and give the service account email Editor access.

2. Find your Elementor Forms fields

In the Elementor editor click each form field, open the Advanced tab and read its ID (for example email or name). Those IDs are what Ora maps to Google Sheets.

3. Set the sheet and columns

Copy the spreadsheet ID from the sheet address (the long part between /d/ and /edit) and note the tab name. Put clear headings in row 1 and tell Ora which form field goes under which heading.

4. Describe it to Ora

Paste your own version of the example request on this page, or start from one of the examples, and say which field goes where. Ora replies with a plan and a price, and nothing is built until you approve it.

5. Test on the practice site

Submit the form on the practice site, then open Elementor, Submissions to confirm the entry was saved. Open the sheet and look for a new row at the bottom with the test values. Check that dates and numbers are not turned into text.

Common snags:

If you forget to share the sheet with the service account email, Google answers with a permission error.
Google limits how often a sheet can be written to, so very high traffic may need batching.
Renaming a tab breaks the connection until you tell Ora the new name.

Free ones may exist. Build your own when you want exact behavior for Google Sheets and nothing extra.

How does it get access to my sheet?

You create a Google service account, paste its key on the settings page and share the sheet with that account's email address. Google's Sheets API uses the spreadsheets scope for this.

Do I need Elementor Pro and a Google Sheets account?

Yes. The Form widget is part of Elementor Pro, and this plugin reads its submissions and sends them to your Google Sheets account. You also need a Google account for the sheet. You don't need to buy Zapier.

Can I get a refund?

The trial fee is refunded automatically if a build fails. A purchased plugin can be refunded within 14 days if it doesn't do what the approved plan said and Ora can't fix it, as long as it hasn't been downloaded or installed.
