How to set up Elementor Forms to Keap

Here is the whole setup for connecting Elementor Forms to Keap, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Keap and in Elementor Forms.

1. Create API access in Keap

In the Keap developer area create a service account key, or an app with OAuth, and copy the credentials. Use an account that can create contacts and apply tags.

2. Find your Elementor Forms fields

In the Elementor editor click each form field, open the Advanced tab and read its ID (for example email or name). Those IDs are what Ora maps to Keap.

3. Match fields, tags and opt-in

Keap contacts are matched by email. Tags and custom fields are referred to by numeric ID, so open each one and note the number. Tell Ora which tags to apply.

4. Describe it to Ora

Paste your own version of the example request on this page, or start from one of the examples, and say which field goes where. Ora replies with a plan and a price, and nothing is built until you approve it.

5. Test on the practice site

Submit the form on the practice site, then open Elementor, Submissions to confirm the entry was saved. Open Contacts in Keap and search for the test email. Check the tags and any campaign that starts from them.

Common snags:

A contact is only marketable once it is opted in, so ask Ora to record the opt-in with a reason when people have agreed.
Tag IDs are numbers, so recreating a tag in Keap gives it a new ID.
Campaign sequences can send emails straight away, so test with your own email first.

Which Keap key do I use?

A personal access token works for one user, and a service account key gives admin-level access. Keap says to keep either one secret. You paste it on the plugin's settings page, and requests go from your site to Keap.

Do I need Elementor Pro and a Keap account?

Yes. The Form widget is part of Elementor Pro, and this plugin reads its submissions and sends them to your Keap account. Keap access keys are made in its API settings. You don't need to buy Zapier.

Can I get a refund?

The trial fee is refunded automatically if a build fails. A purchased plugin can be refunded within 14 days if it doesn't do what the approved plan said and Ora can't fix it, as long as it hasn't been downloaded or installed.
