How to set up Elementor Forms to Telegram

Here is the whole setup for connecting Elementor Forms to Telegram, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Telegram and in Elementor Forms.

1. Create a bot and find your chat ID

In Telegram message @BotFather, create a bot and copy its token. Add the bot to your group or message it yourself, then ask Ora for the chat ID. Group chat IDs are negative numbers.

2. Find your Elementor Forms fields

In the Elementor editor click each form field, open the Advanced tab and read its ID (for example email or name). Those IDs are what Ora maps to Telegram.

3. Choose what the message says

Decide what each alert contains. Telegram messages can use bold text and links, and are limited to 4096 characters, so Ora keeps them short and readable.

4. Describe it to Ora

5. Test on the practice site

Submit the form on the practice site, then open Elementor, Submissions to confirm the entry was saved. Open the chat in Telegram and look for the new message from your bot. Check the formatting and any link.

Common snags:

A bot cannot message a person until that person has pressed Start in a chat with it.
In a group the bot must be a member, and some groups need it to be an admin.
If you turn a group into a supergroup, its chat ID changes, so update it.

How do I make a Telegram bot?

You talk to BotFather inside Telegram, which gives your bot a unique token. You paste that token and your chat ID on the settings page, and requests go from your site to Telegram.

Do I need Elementor Pro and a Telegram account?

Yes. The Form widget is part of Elementor Pro, and this plugin reads its submissions and sends them to your Telegram account. You also need a Telegram account and a bot of your own. You don't need to buy Zapier.

Can I get a refund?
