How to set up WooCommerce to Freshdesk

Here is the whole setup for connecting WooCommerce to Freshdesk, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Freshdesk and in WooCommerce.

1. Copy your API key and domain

In Freshdesk open your profile settings and copy the API key. Your domain is the address you log in at, such as yourcompany.freshdesk.com.

2. Find your WooCommerce fields

Decide which order status sends the data: Processing (payment received) or Completed (order fulfilled). Ora maps billing first name, last name, email, phone and company from the order.

3. Map ticket fields

A ticket needs a requester email, a subject and a description. Status, priority and source are numbers in Freshdesk, for example status 2 is Open and priority 1 is Low. Tell Ora which values new tickets should have.

4. Describe it to Ora

5. Test on the practice site

Place a test order on the practice site using Cash on Delivery or a 100 percent coupon, move it to your chosen status, then check Freshdesk. Open Tickets in Freshdesk and look for the new ticket. Check the requester, priority and any automation rule that runs.

Common snags:

If the requester email is new, Freshdesk creates a contact for it.
Status and priority use number codes, so a wrong code gives an error.
Ticket creation counts against your Freshdesk API rate limit.
