How to set up WooCommerce to Keap

Here is the whole setup for connecting WooCommerce to Keap, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Keap and in WooCommerce.

1. Create API access in Keap

In the Keap developer area create a service account key, or an app with OAuth, and copy the credentials. Use an account that can create contacts and apply tags.

2. Find your WooCommerce fields

Decide which order status sends the data: Processing (payment received) or Completed (order fulfilled). Ora maps billing first name, last name, email, phone and company from the order.

3. Match fields, tags and opt-in

Keap contacts are matched by email. Tags and custom fields are referred to by numeric ID, so open each one and note the number. Tell Ora which tags to apply.

4. Describe it to Ora

5. Test on the practice site

Place a test order on the practice site using Cash on Delivery or a 100 percent coupon, move it to your chosen status, then check Keap. Open Contacts in Keap and search for the test email. Check the tags and any campaign that starts from them.

Common snags:

A contact is only marketable once it is opted in, so ask Ora to record the opt-in with a reason when people have agreed.
Tag IDs are numbers, so recreating a tag in Keap gives it a new ID.
Campaign sequences can send emails straight away, so test with your own email first.

You create a personal access token or a service account key in your Keap API settings and paste it on the plugin's settings page. A personal token acts with your own permissions.

Do I need WooCommerce and a Keap account?

Yes. This plugin runs on your WooCommerce store and sends data to your Keap account. You don't need to buy a Zapier plan.

Can I get a refund?
