What your WooCommerce to Mailchimp plugin does

A focused plugin that adds or updates a Mailchimp audience member from a WooCommerce order. You choose the audience, the merge fields and the tags.

Add or update
The buyer is added to your audience, or updated if the email is already there.
Merge fields
Match first name, last name and phone to Mailchimp merge fields.
Tags
Add tags such as Customer to each member you send.
One settings page
Its own item in your WordPress admin menu, so options are easy to find and change.
Good to know: New members get the status you set, usually subscribed or pending. Only send people who agreed to marketing. Campaigns, automations and store sync in Mailchimp are separate builds.

Tell Ora what you need. Check the plan before you pay.

Describe your Connect WooCommerce to Mailchimp Plugin in your own words. Ora replies with a plan and a price. Nothing is built until you approve it.

Example request
My bakery sells gift boxes on WooCommerce. Add buyers to my Mailchimp audience Gift Box Customers only if they ticked the newsletter checkbox at checkout, with first name and last name, and tag them Customer.
O
Ora
Here is the plan:
  • Mailchimp connection with your API key and audience, plus a test button
  • Only buyers who tick the newsletter box are sent
  • First name and last name mapped to FNAME and LNAME
  • Tag Customer added to every member sent
  • A settings page in its own menu in your WordPress admin
Standard build · $19 once
In this build: Unsubscribes made in Mailchimp are not copied back to WooCommerce. Purchase history and abandoned carts are not part of this plan.
Want more? Add it to your request:
  • Product tags. Add a Mailchimp tag named after the product category they bought.
  • Phone merge field. Save the billing phone in a Mailchimp merge field.
Add these to my request and get a quote
Ora builds it together with the plugin and the quote goes up to match. You see the new price before you pay. One plugin never costs more than $39. If it needs more than one plugin, Ora quotes each one. Or add it later as a separate build.

How to set up WooCommerce to Mailchimp

Here is the whole setup for connecting WooCommerce to Mailchimp, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Mailchimp and in WooCommerce.

1. Get your API key and audience ID
In Mailchimp open Account, Extras, API keys and create a key. The part after the dash (for example us21) is your server prefix. Then open Audience, Settings, Audience name and defaults and copy the Audience ID.
2. Find your WooCommerce fields
Decide which order status sends the data: Processing (payment received) or Completed (order fulfilled). Ora maps billing first name, last name, email, phone and company from the order.
3. Match merge fields
Mailchimp stores names in merge fields, usually FNAME, LNAME and PHONE. Open Audience, Settings, Audience fields and merge tags to see the tag for each field, and create any extra ones before you map them.
4. Describe it to Ora
Paste your own version of the example request on this page, or start from one of the examples, and say which field goes where. Ora replies with a plan and a price, and nothing is built until you approve it.
5. Test on the practice site
Place a test order on the practice site using Cash on Delivery or a 100 percent coupon, move it to your chosen status, then check Mailchimp. Open your audience and search for the test email. Check its status: subscribed means it was added straight away, pending means Mailchimp sent a confirmation email first.
Common snags:

No yearly fee for your Connect WooCommerce to Mailchimp Plugin

Questions

Is there a free WooCommerce to Mailchimp plugin?

Free ones may exist. Build your own when you want exact behavior and nothing extra.

Can it send only people who agreed to marketing?

Yes. The plugin can add a checkbox at checkout and send only buyers who tick it, which is the usual way to collect consent.

Do I need WooCommerce and a Mailchimp account?

Yes. This plugin is built to run on your WooCommerce store and send to your Mailchimp audience, using an API key you create. You don't need to buy Zapier.

Can I get a refund?

The trial fee is refunded automatically if a build fails. A purchased plugin can be refunded within 14 days if it doesn't do what the approved plan said and Ora can't fix it, as long as it hasn't been downloaded or installed.
