How to set up WooCommerce to Pipedrive

Here is the whole setup for connecting WooCommerce to Pipedrive, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Pipedrive and in WooCommerce.

1. Copy your API token

In Pipedrive open your personal preferences, API, and copy your personal API token. The token acts as you, so use an account with permission to add people, organizations and deals.

2. Find your WooCommerce fields

Decide which order status sends the data: Processing (payment received) or Completed (order fulfilled). Ora maps billing first name, last name, email, phone and company from the order.

3. Map people, organizations and deals

Pipedrive splits a lead into a person, an organization and optionally a deal. Standard fields are name, email and phone. Custom fields use long generated keys, so Ora reads them from your account instead of guessing. Say which pipeline and stage new deals start in.

4. Describe it to Ora

Paste your own version of the example request on this page, or start from one of the examples, and say which field goes where. Ora replies with a plan and a price, and nothing is built until you approve it.

5. Test on the practice site

Place a test order on the practice site using Cash on Delivery or a 100 percent coupon, move it to your chosen status, then check Pipedrive. Open Contacts in Pipedrive and search for the test person. Check the organization link, and the deal in the pipeline stage you chose.

Common snags:

Pipedrive does not merge duplicates by itself through the API, so the plugin searches by email before it creates a person.
Email and phone are lists, so one person can hold several. The plugin sets the primary one.
Pipeline and stage are IDs, and a deal moved to a deleted stage stops saving.
