What your WooCommerce to Xero plugin does

A focused plugin that creates a draft or approved sales invoice in Xero from a paid WooCommerce order, with the buyer as the contact.

Order to invoice
A paid WooCommerce order creates a sales invoice in Xero.
Contact matched
The buyer is used as the Xero contact, matched by name and email.
Draft or approved
Choose whether new invoices are saved as drafts or approved.
One settings page
Its own item in your WordPress admin menu, so options are easy to find and change.
Good to know: Xero uses OAuth 2, so you create an app in Xero's developer portal and connect your organization. Xero limits each organization to 60 calls a minute and 5,000 a day. Payments and tax mapping are separate builds.

Tell Ora what you need. Check the plan before you pay.

Describe your Connect WooCommerce to Xero Plugin in your own words. Ora replies with a plan and a price. Nothing is built until you approve it.

Example request
I run a WooCommerce shop for hand-dyed yarn and keep books in Xero. When an order is paid, create a draft sales invoice in Xero with each product, quantity and price, and my order number as the reference.

Ora
Here is the plan:
  • Paid WooCommerce orders create sales invoices in Xero
  • Saved as drafts for you to approve
  • Products, quantities and prices on invoice lines
  • A settings page in its own menu in your WordPress admin
Complex build · $39 once
In this build: Recording payments, credit notes for refunds, tax rate mapping and syncing back from Xero are not in this plan.
Want more? Add it to your request:
  • Auto approve. Approve invoices automatically for orders under an amount I set.
  • Failed send alert. Email me when an invoice could not be created in Xero, with the order number.
Add these to my request and get a quote
Ora builds it together with the plugin and the quote goes up to match. You see the new price before you pay. One plugin never costs more than $39. If it needs more than one plugin, Ora quotes each one. Or add it later as a separate build.

How to set up WooCommerce to Xero

Here is the whole setup for connecting WooCommerce to Xero, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Xero and in WooCommerce.

1. Create a Xero app
In the Xero developer portal create an app that uses OAuth 2.0 and connect it to your organisation. The plugin stores the connection and refreshes it. Use a demo company first if you want to test safely.
2. Find your WooCommerce fields
Decide which order status sends the data: Processing (payment received) or Completed (order fulfilled). Ora maps billing first name, last name, email, phone and company from the order.
3. Match contacts, accounts and tax
Xero needs a contact, line items with an account code and a tax type. Account codes and tax types must already exist in your chart of accounts. Tell Ora whether invoices should be draft or approved.
4. Describe it to Ora
Paste your own version of the example request on this page, or start from one of the examples, and say which field goes where. Ora replies with a plan and a price, and nothing is built until you approve it.
5. Test on the practice site
Place a test order on the practice site using Cash on Delivery or a 100 percent coupon, move it to your chosen status, then check Xero. Open Sales in Xero and look for the new invoice. Check the contact, account code and tax, and that the total matches the order.
Common snags:

No yearly fee for your Connect WooCommerce to Xero Plugin

Looking for an alternative to Zapier Professional plan (750 tasks a month)? It lists at $240 a year. Your own version is a one-off.

Paid plugin price is the list price for one site, as shown on the seller's site in October 2026. The price of your build depends on its size. Ora quotes it before you pay. Zapier connects thousands of apps, not just this one.

Questions

Is there a free WooCommerce to Xero plugin?

Free ones may exist. Build your own when you want exact behavior and nothing extra.

How do I connect my Xero organization?

You create an app in Xero's developer portal and authorize it for your organization with OAuth 2. Ora explains the steps and builds the token refresh into the plugin.

Do I need WooCommerce and a Xero account?

Yes. This plugin runs on your WooCommerce store and sends data to your Xero account. You don't need to buy a Zapier plan.

Can I get a refund?

The trial fee is refunded automatically if a build fails. A purchased plugin can be refunded within 14 days if it doesn't do what the approved plan said and Ora can't fix it, as long as it hasn't been downloaded or installed.
