How to set up WPForms to Zoho CRM

Here is the whole setup for connecting WPForms to Zoho CRM, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in Zoho CRM and in WPForms.

1. Create API access in Zoho
In the Zoho API Console create a Self Client with the ZohoCRM.modules.ALL scope and generate a grant. Ora exchanges it for a refresh token. Use the domain your account lives on (.com, .eu, .in, .com.au or .jp), because the wrong region fails.
2. Find your WPForms fields
Each WPForms field has a numeric ID, shown in the field options and in the smart tag list. The Name field has separate First and Last parts, so tell Ora which one goes where.
3. Match fields by API name
Zoho matches fields by API name, not label. A Lead needs Last_Name, and standard fields are First_Name, Email, Phone and Company. Custom fields are listed under Setup, Modules and Fields, with their API names.
4. Describe it to Ora
Paste your own version of the example request on this page, or start from one of the examples, and say which field goes where. Ora replies with a plan and a price, and nothing is built until you approve it.
5. Test on the practice site
Submit a test entry. WPForms Lite does not keep entries, so watch Zoho CRM directly if you use the free version. Open Leads in Zoho CRM and search for the test email. Check the lead source and owner, and any workflow rule that starts.

Can one form create a lead and another a contact?

Yes. Each form gets its own setting, so one can create Leads and another can create Contacts.

Do I need WPForms and a Zoho CRM account?

Yes. This plugin is built to take submissions from WPForms and send them to your Zoho CRM account. You don't need to buy the WPForms Elite plan.

Can I get a refund?

The trial fee is refunded automatically if a build fails. A purchased plugin can be refunded within 14 days if it doesn't do what the approved plan said and Ora can't fix it, as long as it hasn't been downloaded or installed.
