How to set up Everest Forms to HubSpot

Here is the whole setup for connecting Everest Forms to HubSpot, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in HubSpot and in Everest Forms.

1. Create a private app in HubSpot
In HubSpot open Settings, Integrations, Private Apps and create an app for your site. Give it the crm.objects.contacts.read and crm.objects.contacts.write scopes, then copy the access token (it starts with pat-). The plugin keeps the token in your own WordPress settings.
2. Find your Everest Forms fields
Open the form in Everest Forms, click a field and check its Advanced Options for the Meta Key, which identifies the field. Name fields are split into first and last.
3. Match fields by internal name
HubSpot matches properties by internal name, not the label you see. First name is firstname, last name is lastname, phone is phone and company is company. Open Settings, Properties and click a property to read its internal name.
4. Describe it to Ora

5. Test on the practice site
Submit a test entry and look for it under Everest Forms, Entries. Open Contacts in HubSpot and search for the test email. The contact should show the submitted values, and a second submission with the same email should update it instead of creating a copy.
