How to set up Gravity Forms to HubSpot

Here is the whole setup for connecting Gravity Forms to HubSpot, so you know what to have ready before you start. Most of it takes a few minutes in HubSpot and in Gravity Forms.

1. Create a private app in HubSpot
In HubSpot open Settings, Integrations, Private Apps and create an app for your site. Give it the crm.objects.contacts.read and crm.objects.contacts.write scopes, then copy the access token (it starts with pat-). The plugin keeps the token in your own WordPress settings.
2. Find your Gravity Forms fields
Gravity Forms identifies fields by number: field 1, field 2 and so on. Composite fields such as Name use decimals, so first name is usually 1.3 and last name 1.6. Ora needs these numbers to map correctly.
3. Match fields by internal name
HubSpot matches properties by internal name, not the label you see. First name is firstname, last name is lastname, phone is phone and company is company. Open Settings, Properties and click a property to read its internal name.
4. Describe it to Ora

5. Test on the practice site
Submit a test entry and look for it under Forms, Entries in Gravity Forms. Open Contacts in HubSpot and search for the test email. The contact should show the submitted values, and a second submission with the same email should update it instead of creating a copy.
